The front wall of the headjoint is slightly higher than the back giving you better dynamic control and a thicker-sounding lower register - perfect for expressive playing. The rosewood headjoint offers the flute a softer more rounded tone than pure blackwood. Made from African blackwood (Grenadilla) this piccolo has a sweeter warmer tone than its metal-derived counterparts.
