S/P-DIF

— in this case, the coaxial version of S / P-DIF is meant, using an electrical cable with RCA connectors; another variety — optical — is indicated separately (see the relevant paragraph). All types of S/P-DIF are intended for digital audio transmission (including multichannel). Specifically, the coaxial interface, on the one hand, is more sensitive to interference than the optical one, on the other hand, it uses a more durable and reliable cable.
