A compact home wireless router that combines the functions of a GPON terminal and a high-speed home SOHO router. It is the final element of an optical passive network (PON) topology. Receives a light signal traveling along a fiber optic cable from a splitter (splitter), converts it into an electrical signal and distributes it through Ethernet ports or the Wi-Fi 5 interface. Thus, this router is designed for an incoming optical WAN connection to the provider’s network via a standard SFP port .
Positioned as a mid-price product in 2022, aimed at household use. The hardware basis of the Ubiquiti UFiber GPON WiFi Router is a platform with a modern MIPS processor (900 MHz) and 256 MB of RAM. Its computing power is sufficient for uninterrupted processing and switching of powerful traffic flows, without unpleasant freezes and packet losses. The declared throughput is up to 2.4 Gbit/s download and 1.2 Gbit/s upload. There are 4 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports for connecting client devices via cable. The wireless module supports dual-channel MIMO 2x2 data transmission technology and provides peak (theoretical) connection speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s.
