A viable alternative to the hordes of rapidly resurgent instant cameras is the Xiaomi Mi Pocket Photo Printer, a compact printer for printing small pictures.

On the way to victory

The model beats "instant" cameras in terms of the flexibility of processing footage in anticipation of sending it to print, and also outperforms the aforementioned cameras in terms of tiny size and light weight. The mini-printer fits easily into a spacious jacket pocket – in terms of dimensions, it turned out to be akin to the average power bank from Xiaomi.

"Live" photos

To communicate with a portable printer via Bluetooth, the Mi Home application is used. It has basic image processing tools and the ability to create "live" photos — when you point your smartphone camera at the corresponding pictures, the effect of augmented reality turns on and you can see movements in the frame along with pre-recorded sounds. Special mention deserves tools for creating collages, dividing photos on a grid, printing photos for documents.

Zink adhesive cards

Xiaomi Mi Pocket Photo Printer prints pictures on 2x3 inch adhesive paper (50x76 mm). Zink cards are formed from a multilayer material coated with microcrystals. Colour prints on them are obtained by heating certain areas of the paper. Images on printed images are not afraid of bright light and moisture. However, in terms of quality, they are still inferior to photographs printed, for example, on an “adult” inkjet photo printer. Out of the box, the mini-printer is equipped with five sheets of specialized photo paper, in the future it can be purchased in packs of 10 to 50 pcs.
