Balance boards

Board

— a device in the form of a board of a specially selected shape, sometimes supplemented with other accessories.

Perhaps the most famous version of balance boards is a product similar to a skateboard board, complete with a top hat. Such a board is placed on a cylinder laid on its side. Then you need to jump on it, standing with your feet on the edges, and balance in such a way that the edges of the board do not touch the floor, while the cylinder will roll under the board. This practice looks like a circus act, but in fact it is quite accessible to anyone with a normally developed sense of balance. The so-called Bilgow boards work on a similar principle, however, they do not use a cylinder, but a support in the form of a rounded plate installed perpendicular to the board. This support can be rotated to change the angle of application of force and add variety to your workout.

The third type of balancing boards are boards with raised edges. Working with such shells is noticeably easier than with the varieties described above; however, they also provide excellent coordination and balance training.
