Top feed

— top feed (or "walking foot") - a device that is installed in place of a regular presser foot and helps to advance the fabric from above (in addition to the lower feed dog). Designed for simultaneous, even pulling / feeding of the upper and lower layers of fabric, which is especially important when working with thin, sliding materials. Allows you to get an even stitch and sew several layers of fabric without mutual displacement.
