It is made by using much less water than regular espresso while using the same amount of coffee (7g), resulting in a smaller serving size of about 20-25 mL. To fully appreciate its taste, it is consumed slowly, with sips of cold water in between. Despite its strong flavor, ristretto contains less caffeine than espresso.
