The very name of the model, Weatherproof, speaks about the all-weather orientation of the tyre, which comes from snowy Finland. The tyre was so successful that it is considered to be almost the standard of all-season tyres.

special geometry

Nokian Weatherproof uses a directional V-shaped tread design with large blocks to prevent snow from accumulating in the contact patch. The blocks in the central part and shoulder areas are dotted with many sipes that form gripping edges for the tyre to grip the slippery roadway. Numerous drainage channels run along the perimeter of the tread, contributing to the effective removal of melted snow from the contact patch in the winter and water in the warm season.

Omnivorous to coatings

No worse than on snowy roads, the tyre behaves on dry pavement. Responsiveness in handling on a dry canvas is added by stiffness zones between the central part of the tread and its “shoulders”. The shoulder regions are also involved in driving stability at high speeds and efficient braking on wet pavement.

Versatility

All-weather rubber compound with silica inclusion allows the tyre to maintain elasticity over a wide temperature range. In addition, low rolling resistance reduces fuel consumption. The tyre is produced both in versions for passenger cars, and for SUVs (with the prefix SUV), and for minibuses (index C). Moreover, in the latter case, rubber is presented in two modifications: with a symmetrical and asymmetric tread pattern.
