The H-type shifter has six forward gears and reverse, which is uniquely engaged by returning the lever to neutral, pressing it down, and moving to the sixth gear position — this design prevents accidental reverse engagement while driving. Gear shifts are smooth and precise, with each position locking with a characteristic click. The lever is mounted on a steel shaft, with height adjustable by up to 3 centimeters for personal comfort.

The front panel is made of metal with a brushed texture, adding realism to tactile shifting sensations. The body features two functional buttons: a handbrake for instant in-game stopping and a high/low gear range switch, which is especially useful in trucking simulations like Euro Truck Simulator. The PXN A7 shifter comes with three interchangeable cables. On PC, the shifter operates independently and is recognized by any steering wheels in the system, while on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles, it works in conjunction with a compatible steering wheel. It mounts to a table or steering stand up to 50 mm thick with flat-headed screw clamps that do not leave marks on the surface.
