The German company AEG has been manufacturing construction tools for many decades, so its equipment is as convenient and practical as possible to use. The BBH 18-0 is a high performance, high quality rotary hammer priced at around $300.

Compact and strong

The engine in the case is located vertically, which gives a number of advantages: compactness of the device, comfortable handle for a wide grip. For a more secure hold, there is an additional handle and rubberized pads on the body. The vibration protection system improves drilling accuracy and reduces hand fatigue when working with a chisel.

The rotary hammer weighs 3.5 kg along with an 18-volt 4-amp battery, which, with its ergonomics, is normal, but already a stretch. You won't work long. The battery itself is not included, you will have to spend money on it separately.

What can be drilled?

Operating modes are traditionally switched using a rotary wheel. Without impact, the rotary hammers holes in wood with a diameter of up to 30 mm, in metal — up to 13 mm. In the hammer drilling mode, you can use a solid drill with an SDS + shank up to 24 mm in diameter, a core drill up to 50 mm. A depth gauge built into the accessory handle allows multiple holes of the same depth to be drilled without interruption, and a safety clutch will stop the spindle from rotating if the drill is jammed. This will avoid injury to the master and breakage of the tool.

The impact force of the tool is 2.3 J and the frequency is 4200 beats / min — not the best for such a price, especially if you compare the model with the same DeWALT DCH133N. AEG BBH 18-0 is slightly weaker, so chiselling and drilling will take a little longer with it. But it also consumes less energy.
