Сomputer chairs swing mechanisms overview: pros and cons of each typeWhat are the swing mechanisms in computer and office chairs

How to choose computer chairWhat to consider when choosing comfortable computer chair for height and other factors
The chair isn't particularly ergonomic, but it's quite suitable for short sitting periods, provided that height is up to 180 cm. I got it in fabric. The chair itself is well-made, with a solid sheet of plywood - potentially strong and durable. The armrests hold firmly. The gas lift is standard. The mechanism, base, and wheels are cheap - I recommend replacing them with something better or immediately going for another version of this chair if you prefer curved armrests with soft upholstery. What I didn't like: The backrest is almost at a 90-degree angle, yes, there's some curve, but it's not enough, in my opinion. Moreover, the chair has a slight backward seat tilt, and there's padding stuffed along the edge, perpendicular to the legs, which puts pressure on the legs. This is at the minimum chair height, and I'm 190 cm tall, and if you lean back, your feet don't reach the floor and quickly go numb. I've been sitting for three days - bruises appeared on my legs, and my back started to hurt. The chair is clearly not suitable for long sitting. But my father liked it, although he doesn't sit in the chair for 10 hours. The armrests seem too low to me, because elbows should reach and rest comfortably on the armrests, but they don't and just hang slightly... After a week - got slightly used to it, the edge softened a bit, the bruises went away, but the legs still go numb, and the back gets tired... I changed the mechanism from Tilt to Anyfix - the chair became straighter, almost no backward tilt and immediately more comfortable for the legs, but not for the back, because with Anyfix the tilt angle is less than half, meaning it's not very possible to lean back/recline on an already steep backrest. |
