Appearance matters

Apacer has come up with a solution to the problem by introducing a high-speed AC233 external hard drive in a sleek, glossy case. However you will have to pay for this elegance: the case is easily soiled and instantly collects prints. Intelligent Power Management

Inside the protective cover is a 500 GB Western Digital laptop hard drive that runs at 5400 rpm and has 8 MB of cache. What's nice, in the disk tests, the performance turned out to be higher than officially claimed: in the Crystaldiskmark benchmark, the read speed was 112 MB / s, and the write speed was 109 MB / s. One of the features of the AC233 is the intelligent power management system, thanks to which the drive will automatically switch to power saving mode if no data is transferred for 10 minutes. This prolongs the life cycle of the disk.

Hi-Speed USB 3.1 Support

The disk itself is connected to the computer using a USB 3.1 interface, which provides the maximum data transfer rate, but if necessary, it can also work with USB 2.0. When connected to the AC233 information source, a two-colour LED indicator is used, which indicates a specific type of connection. This can be useful if a laptop or motherboard has several ports of different versions at once, but you can’t remember their position.
