The Aqara brand electronic lock is a mid-budget solution with varied unlocking methods and broad integration options into smart home ecosystems (Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and optionally Aqara Home). The model is a smart overlay with a handle, visually resembling classic door hardware, allowing it to easily blend into various interiors. The device supports two data transmission protocols, Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth, providing different connection options, including direct connection to a smartphone, to automation systems, cloud services, etc. The Aqara A100 electronic lock can be unlocked in numerous ways — through the input of a permanent or one-time password, using a fingerprint (claimed activation accuracy of 98.6%), by applying an NFC card, through a mobile app, or even via voice assistants — Siri or Google Assistant.

Note that codes can be changed, and other settings can be configured remotely via Zigbee, making it convenient for the short-term rental and hotel business. The app allows monitoring of the current status (open/closed), unauthorized access, abnormal attempts of erroneous code entry, etc. As a power source, it uses 8 AA batteries, which should provide up to 18 months of autonomy. In case of full discharge, unlocking is possible with a mechanical lock, plus emergency power is available through a built-in USB-C port.
