Inverter for MMA welding (and a little TIG)
The Bester 210-ND welding inverter is designed for manual welding and has moderate power (6.9 kW). It can be connected to household electrical networks with 16 A circuit breakers or used with mid-class generators to work in places without constant electricity. The device (welding current up to 200 A) is suitable for electrodes up to 5 mm. The electronic board has built-in automatic functions: “hot start”, “arc force” and “anti-sticking”, making the work easier even for experienced welders.
Features of argon-arc welding
The device supports the TIG Lift function for contact arc ignition, but does not have a special hose for supplying argon or a connector for connecting to a gas cylinder. For argon-arc welding, additional accessories will be required: a holder for a tungsten electrode, a gas reducer, hoses and a cylinder.
Advantages and disadvantages
The packaging and quality of the parts deserve praise: the electronic boards are filled with a compound to protect them from dust and moisture, the fittings are of good quality (copper contact parts, rigid springs). Long cables (3 m) provide freedom of maneuver. The kit includes a plastic case and a carrying strap. However, one can complain about the cooling efficiency: with a maximum current of 200 A, the device can only work for a minute, after which it requires 9 minutes of rest.
Subsidiary brand of a famous manufacturer
The Polish company Bester, which became part of Lincoln Electric in 2002, adopted the best practices from its parent company: modern circuit design, strict quality control and careful selection of components. The brand's products (including Bester 210-ND) have a good reputation and occupy the niche of welding machines for advanced amateurs and “home” equipment for professional welders.
