The downside could be considered the somewhat archaic design, but that's subjective. Also, even when the casing fits snugly against the tile, the light from the diode seeps through the casing, which is surprising at this price point. Additionally, what they refer to as a backdraft damper or louvers is just a piece of thin polyethylene, which is unlikely to adequately prevent reverse airflow or odors.
