After unpacking, for some reason, the knife and some other parts were covered in a very thick layer of grease. I mean, I do understand the need for grease. But this was definitely overkill, I got tired of removing it all. You can't cut food like that, they'll end up all oily. I later read on the internet that this is almost always the case. It's probably supposed to be like that for a reason. It's great that we managed to buy this wonder before the price hike. Now I wouldn't be sure I'd go for such a purchase. However, I'm very happy with the acquisition, I've wanted this device for a long time. Slicing anything has become a pleasure, and everything turns out very neatly, a joy to behold. It cuts everything from bread to lard. I use it almost every day, sometimes several times. It dismantles easily and cleans well. Made of metal, it's said to be aluminum online, and it looks very sturdy. The hand is well protected; you'd have to try really hard to injure yourself while using it. I received this gadget as a gift since I love all sorts of kitchen devices. I never really thought about getting a slicer, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like using it. Of course, I don't take it out every day, but it really comes in handy for various celebrations. You can adjust the width of the slices to your liking, making them very thin or thicker, with the minimum being virtually unlimited and the maximum being 15 mm. Adjustment is done simply by turning the side handle. There is finger protection, but nevertheless, I use it very carefully and don't trust such a device to a child. You can slice almost anything with it; sometimes I slice apples to make apple chips, which I wouldn't bother to do by hand, and it wouldn't be as precise. It's made with quality, is convenient to use, and your hands don't get tired even if you have to slice something for a long time. Overall, I like the device, but I would rather call it an addition rather than an essential item, as everything can also be done without it, perhaps just a bit slower. Bulky, if there's not enough space in the kitchen to place it, then perhaps there's no point in getting it. And if the cutting volumes are small, it's easier to cut with a knife than to wash everything and put it back afterward.
