Main functions
The weather station is able to measure the temperature in the street and indoors, as well as humidity with the registration of minimum and maximum values. In addition, a forecast is made for the next 12 hours, which is displayed in the form of symbols: sunny, cloudy, partly cloudy, rain and snow. Time and date are automatically synchronized by radio signal, but you can also set it manually, there is an alarm clock with a snooze function after 5 minutes.
The station itself is installed only on a flat surface, that is, it cannot be hung on the wall. But the external sensor can be installed in different ways. Although it is resistant to bad weather, it is better to place it in places sheltered from direct sunlight, rain and snow — for example, on the outside of a window. The sensor itself is compact, does not take up much space, has its own display for displaying readings and a range of up to 50 metres. The level of the signal and the charge of the batteries that feed it are displayed on the screen of the station itself.
Chameleon display
The main highlight of the device is a display with 256 colours. The numbers on the screen are quite large and are displayed on a black background, so they can be seen in direct sunlight, and especially in low light. In the settings, you can select the desired shade in which the inscriptions will be painted. If your eyes run up from such numerous colours, choose all at once: the colours will automatically change after a certain period of time. Another interesting solution is to display the colour on the screen depending on the temperature: for example, at -20, the numbers will turn blue, at +28 — red, and if the thermometer rises above 45 degrees — grey.
The brightness of the screen is also adjustable, you can choose high or minimum, or turn off the backlight altogether. But there is a caveat: since the station works both from the mains and from batteries, when choosing the second option, the device will go into low power consumption mode: the brightness will be minimal, and the colour change function will become unavailable.
