The sewing machine by Brother belongs to the category of computerized models, yet its features can be considered basic. Therefore, the device is more suitable for beginners who are just getting acquainted with sewing and hobbyist crafters. A sturdy metal frame guarantees stability and long service life. A small monochrome display on the body greatly facilitates operation. It features a horizontal rotary hook, which ensures easy use and quiet operation without vibrations.

In total, the machine can perform 20 sewing operations: 3 types of buttonholes formed automatically according to button sizes and 17 types of stitches — from regular utility to decorative. The package includes a variety of presser feet for different tasks: universal, overlock, zipper installation, decorative stitching, blind hemming, button sewing, and buttonhole making. When choosing a stitch, the Brother FS 20S displays on the screen the recommended stitch length, width, and presser foot type.

But you can set the settings manually. The model allows you to adjust the stitch length (up to 5 mm), zigzag width (up to 7 mm), thread tension, and sewing speed (maximum 750 stitches per minute). Additionally, it offers a reverse function for securing a seam, needle positioning, and twin needle sewing (note that a twin needle is not included in the package). The lower feed can be manually lowered for free sewing, embroidery, darning, and quilting. For more comfortable sewing, the manufacturer added an automatic needle threader, a free arm for handling narrow elements (cuffs, pant legs, sleeves), a removable compartment for tools and scraps, and LED lighting for the working area.
