Smart Auto function
Smart Auto harnesses the power of the DIGIC DV III processor to intelligently detect and analyze face, brightness, colour, distance, movement, and then automatically selects the best settings for the scene. Among the 38 scenes available in Smart Auto, the most prominent is Tele Macro. Tele Macro automatically zooms the video camera lens in telephoto mode, provided that the minimum distance to the object is about 0.4 metres (from 1 metre).
