Over 6 years of using the mat, with at least 10 wash cycles, absolutely nothing happened to it. Not a single thread came out from the mat's edging. The surface is perfect, and the rubber backing on the bottom is also intact; if you wash it, you could sell it as new. On the desk, it looks expensive and high-quality, not like a rag, but like a serious gaming surface. This is all thanks to its 5mm thickness and well-stitched edges. In short, I recommend it to everyone, the best mat I've ever used. I'm attaching photos to show what it looks like at my workspace.
