The DCS-900 Internet Camera is designed as a cost-effective home or small office security system. The camera connects to the building's Ethernet network or broadband Internet connection. Equipped with an embedded Web server and software for viewing images from multiple cameras at the same time, this camera is a complete system for effective surveillance from a local site or from anywhere in the world via the Internet.
Standalone system with embedded Web server
The Internet Camera has an embedded processor and a Web server, providing an inexpensive solution to the problem of monitoring the security of a home or office. The embedded Web server eliminates the need for a computer to connect to the camera. Once the camera is installed, you can use the built-in IP address to access it, change its settings, and view live video.
Web Based Remote Access
For remote security monitoring, you can install the camera at home or in the office, and view the image anywhere through a computer and Internet Explorer or Netscape browser. Directly connected to the Internet without the aid of a computer, the camera is easy to install and easily integrates into existing network environments.
Motion Detector
Instead of continuously recording 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, an image can only be recorded when motion is detected. This saves disk space and eliminates the time spent viewing unnecessary images. The image can be written in compressed form to a computer hard disk or to a network storage device.
Viewing images from multiple cameras at the same time
The supplied image viewer "IPView Lite" allows you to view up to 4 cameras on one computer screen. The resulting image can be written to the computer's hard drive manually or according to a specified schedule.

The DCS-900 supports video resolutions up to 640 x 480 dpi. The camera uses M-JPEG video streaming at 20 frames per second for real-time video transmission.
