Powerful electric saw with long bar

The Daewoo DACS2700E chain saw is a very powerful tool. “Under the hood” it has an electric motor with a power of 2400 W. Due to the fact that the engine is mounted longitudinally, the body is narrow and long. Saws of this design are not very suitable for cutting branches in dense tree crowns or thickets of bushes, but they are very convenient for sawing logs and lumber. However, the high power and long bar (450 mm) directly indicate that this tool is intended specifically for sawing large pieces of wood. But it should be noted that when sawing very thick logs (the diameter of which approximately corresponds to the length of the tire), the engine operates almost at the limit of its capabilities and is prone to overheating. This is not surprising, because Daewoo tools are not professional, and even the operating instructions directly state that the Daewoo DACS2700E saw requires 10 minutes of rest after every 15 minutes of work.

Advantages and disadvantages

A careful examination of the design of the saw shows that the manufacturer has taken care to ensure that the work is comfortable and safe. For example, the tool has a “soft start” function - the chain accelerates quickly, but without jerking, and the device does not try to “jump” out of your hands when the engine is turned on. The tire can be removed and installed without keys or screwdrivers, and the chain is tightened manually using a rotary ring (it should be noted that the tension mechanism is a little peculiar: the design includes a backlash, which does not affect anything, but confuses beginners who take the Daewoo DACS2700E for the first time in hand). There are also no complaints about reliability: the saw set is good, the chain is sharp, the bearings are of proper quality, and the drive sprocket is made entirely of metal. One can only complain about the heavy weight (5.4 kg) and noisy operation (112 dB), but these shortcomings are a natural consequence of installing a powerful motor.
