Daikin MCK55W

The debutant of 2020 is the floor-mounted humidifying air purifier of the Japanese brand Daikin, which is made in white. Due to its rather large height (70 cm), it does not take up much space on the floor: you need a patch of 27 by 27 cm, which is less than, for example, for the Boneco W200.

It is recommended to use the device in rooms from 23 (cleaning + humidification) to 40 square metres (cleaning only).

Automatic and special modes

Daikin MCK55W is equipped with several sensors that detect temperature and humidity, dust and odours. Based on their data, the model is able to work fully automatically. If desired, you can independently set the fan speed, including activating the minimum — silent level (in the region of 19 – 25 dB).

Additionally, several specialized modes are offered: economy, which reduces energy consumption; anti-pollen, which increases the efficiency of pollen absorption, preventing it from settling on the floor; moisturizing to combat dry skin and throat. Plus, child lock and brightness adjustment of the display are available. And in addition to the control panel, the user has a remote control.

Possibilities of cleaning and humidification

The Daikin MCK55W implements the water principle of humidification, for which the model is equipped with a humidifying filter, a water tray and a 2.7-liter removable tank. Liquid consumption ranges from 200 to 500 mL / h: if at minimum speed refueling is required after 13.5 hours, then at maximum speed — after only 5.5 hours.

The air washer is complemented by both an ionization function and a multi-level filtration system. The pre-filter captures coarse contaminants, the electrostatic filter captures dust, smoke and fumes, the HEPA filter captures fine particles, including allergens, viruses and bacteria, and the deodorizing catalyst absorbs unpleasant odours.

The disadvantages include the high price, but the good functionality of the Daikin MCK55W, positive reviews from its predecessors and an excellent reputation as a manufacturer of climate technology convince that such a waste is largely justified.
