Small Semi-Automatic with Synergistic Control
Modern welding machines gradually free craftsmen from the need to adjust parameters solely based on experience and the feel of the metal. The Dedra DESMI151M is equipped with an inverter power system and microprocessor control, allowing for quick adjustments to different types of work. In synergistic mode, the user only needs to set basic data, such as the type and diameter of the welding wire. The machine then automatically selects the appropriate values for current, voltage, and other parameters based on built-in programs.
Details and Features
For those who prefer to manage the welding process manually, a manual adjustment of basic parameters is provided. Using the buttons and rotary controls on the front panel, you can set the welding current in the range of 10 – 120 A, output voltage, and wire feed speed. In MMA mode, the machine works with electrodes up to 2.5 mm in diameter, while in semi-automatic welding it supports wire ⌀0.8 mm and ⌀1 mm.
To simplify manual arc welding, the inverter has a set of auxiliary functions. Hot Start makes electrode ignition easier, Anti-Stick prevents it from sticking to the workpiece, and Arc Force stabilizes the arc and promotes deeper metal penetration. The model can also be used for TIG welding. However, a suitable torch with a sleeve and holder is not included. For this task, you can purchase the DEDRA DESTI010 or a compatible equivalent from another manufacturer.
Optimal Choice for Working with Small Parts
The Dedra DESMI151M stands out among other inverter semi-automatics with its compact body and small weight of 5 kg. The machine is convenient to transport and use for off-site work, such as repairing equipment in the field or installing small metal structures at the customer's site.
However, the model is not designed for prolonged welding with maximum current. At 120 A, the duty cycle is 20%: after 2 minutes of operation, the machine requires about 8 minutes for cooling. Therefore, it is not suitable for regular welding of thick metal and heavy structures. However, for periodic work with small parts, such constraints typically do not cause significant inconvenience.
