Bulgarian DeWALT DWE492 is famous for its "indestructibility". It is considered a very reliable tool that lasts a long time even under heavy loads and requires only periodic replacement of carbon brushes. The main role in the formation of such a reputation was played by a high-quality engine with well-thought-out cooling and effective protection against dust, and a trouble-free gearbox, “packed” in an aluminium alloy case. Due to the high power of the motor (2200 W), the angle grinder is characterized by high productivity when performing cutting operations related to cutting metal, fittings, pipes, stone, concrete or other materials. Although the tool does not have a constant speed function, the engine keeps the speed well when the load increases and allows you to work without slowing down. Practical experience of using this angle grinder on a construction site and in workshops shows that it works quite smoothly, without significant beats and vibrations (we are talking about using high-quality discs), and does not overheat during long non-stop operation.

The only thing that experienced craftsmen may not like is the unusual design of the controls. The button that you need to press to unlock the start key is for some reason located in a very inconvenient place - on top of the case. If you are used to a different position of the blocker, then it will take some time to “relearn”.

Other variants of the same angle grinder

Among the DeWALT angle grinders there are other variants of the same tool, which differ slightly in price and “stuffing”: DeWALT DWE490 (slightly cheaper) has a less powerful engine (2000 W), and DeWALT DWE492S (slightly more expensive) has the same 2200 W motor , but at the same time it has a “soft start”, which is necessary for a soft start and smooth acceleration of the disk to operating speed.
