I bought this adapter to easily transfer various information and files from the computer to the smartphone and vice versa. I really liked the price. But there is one "but" - it's the speed at which files are written to the connected flash drive or memory card. The write speed did not exceed 25 megabytes per second at all. This figure was under the condition of connecting a USB 3.0 flash drive and a fairly fast memory card (Samsung EVO Plus 64 gigabytes) to a computer with USB 3.0. The box states that it supports USB standard 2.0, but was it really that hard for the manufacturer to add support for the third version of USB inside the adapter? The write speed to the flash drive for large files (300 megabytes and more) reaches a maximum of 25 megabytes with an average speed of 10 megabytes (screenshot #1). The write speed to the flash drive for a large number of small files (from 10 kilobytes to 5 megabytes) only reaches 2 megabytes with an average speed of 322 kilobytes (screenshot #2). If you connect a memory card, the situation will be approximately the same (screenshot #3 and #4). But in screenshot #4, I was copying music from the computer to the memory card, so the figures differ there. I did not use the Micro USB port because I do not have the equipment to test it. The same situation applies to USB type-c, as the manufacturer focused on cost reduction instead of fully realizing the potential of such an interesting adapter. Various devices that can be connected to a computer and smartphone using an adapter (flash drive and memory card). However, it is not advisable to connect both at the same time to avoid any damage. An LED that lights up blue when connected. The write speed is too low by today's standards. The read speed is also low. I tried to play a high-quality movie from the memory card connected to my smartphone and noticed that the video stutters (sometimes freezing for a second or two, then continuing again). However, I watched the same video comfortably from the smartphone's memory. The build quality is at a good level, but I didn't like the plastic itself very much. |
