The Chinese company Ecovacs is one of the leaders in the production of robotic equipment for cleaning and home care. Ecovacs smart devices are comparable to Maserati and Bugatti from the world of cars in terms of quality, patent solutions, wide possibilities and solid price. The ECOVACS DeeBot Ozmo T8 Plus multifunctional robot vacuum cleaner is a logical development of the simplified model without the ECOVACS DeeBot Ozmo T8 AIVI base cleaning station. Although the device entered the market in 2020, it is still considered one of the most successful home cleaner implementations.
Cartography to the rescue: TrueDetect 3D and TrueMapping
The device consists of 2 main parts: an autonomous mobile module and a stationary self-cleaning base connected to a power outlet. The cleaning robot periodically drives up to the charging station in order to empty a capacious 420 mL dust container through the inlet port and recharge the built-in battery. A disposable cleaning station bag is enough for about a month's garbage collection. A 5200 mAh battery charge is enough for about 180 minutes of work or for cleaning an area of about 200 m2. The proprietary DToF rangefinder, using the original TrueDetect 3D technology and the TrueMapping distance sensor, marks the map of the territory, forms a route and stores the data in memory. Infrared sensors, as well as side and bottom anti-fall and collision sensors help the vacuum cleaner move around obstacles. The guide roller sets the trajectory of movement, and the road wheels easily "jump" over the 20 mm sill.
Washing block with vibration drive Ozmo-Pro
A set of removable tools, including 2 side brushes and a V-shaped turbo brush, provides high-quality dry cleaning of premises. And the microfibre squeegee and Ozmo-Pro vibrating floor mop pad keep surfaces wet. At the same time, the robot “sweeps” quite quietly (67 dB), without disturbing the noise of households and neighbors. Among the operating modes, we note the possibility of cleaning "along the perimeter", "in a spiral", "zigzag" and "auto". The vacuum cleaner can be controlled from a smartphone via the Internet, so that additional functions related to the control of cleaning processes are available. In addition, the model supports voice control (Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa), sound alarm and voice report. As positive "goodies", we note the presence of an on timer (24 hours), the presence in the package of 22 disposable napkins to replace microfibre, as well as 2 bottles of a branded cleaner, which should be added to the water tank.
