The choice fell on these speakers as I was looking for something inexpensive and simple for movies, games, and that's it. Naturally, I didn't expect super clear sound or any bass from them, but the sound itself is pleasant enough; you can adjust the frequency type, "tone," something like a semblance of bass, a sound on low frequencies. They are certainly better than plastic USB laptop speakers; these have a wooden case, are powered from the network, and have a panel with all the buttons in the front, but accordingly, they are a bit more expensive. As you can see in the product photo, the mesh can be removed, if needed, but I didn't remove it so that the membranes don't collect dust there. I was pleasantly surprised that the speakers don't pick up interference like the rattling you sometimes get from a phone, or when you turn on the lights somewhere in the apartment. You don't even need to turn them off at night; they don't hiss at all, i.e., they don't hum, but naturally, the volume is not turned up all the way.
