Basic Protection System
The FSP FP 850 UPS provides a basic level of protection for most modern computer equipment and can support short-term backup power for low-power devices (such as ultrabooks with consumption up to 100 W) for approximately 20 minutes. The model operates on a line-interactive voltage stabilization system with an input voltage range of 162 – 290 V. The device is rated for a peak load of up to 850 VA, and its nominal power is 480 W. This is sufficient for connecting home and office PCs along with routers and LED lighting without the risk of overload. The UPS offers a favorable balance of price and features, making it an attractive choice for most users. In the event of a power outage, a cold start mode is available, allowing the equipment to be powered on for a few minutes—enough to check email, print documents, or use the internet.
Backup Capabilities
For connecting equipment, there are two F-type sockets with backup power, compatible with electrical equipment in most European countries. An independent operation is supported by a battery with a capacity of 9 Ah, which makes the model stand out in its price category. One of the key advantages is its efficient charging system: it takes about 4 hours to restore up to 90% of the battery capacity, and the process can occur even when the device is turned off. Safety is ensured by protection against overcharge and deep discharge of the battery. Thanks to this, the UPS is particularly useful in areas with frequent power outages and is always ready for operation. After the power supply is restored, the device automatically returns to normal mode. Additionally, you can install a module with USB, RJ11, and RJ45 interfaces for remote monitoring and management of parameters through software on a PC.
Only in the first few days, the UPS couldn't keep the computer on at all. I understood that the battery hadn't yet reached its full capacity. It needs time. My system is not very powerful, so I didn't get a super powerful UPS.
It holds the connection with the Ryzen 5 2600 and 1660ti, along with the monitor. I think some newer PCs with 5600/7500 and 4060 would also handle the same consumption.
So I fully recommend this UPS for a budget setup. It holds its 300 watts.
