An inverter that is slightly better than others

One of the most interesting features of the FUBAG IR 200 VRD welding machine is the ability to work with fairly thick electrodes (up to and including 5 mm in diameter). That is, it can do a little more than an ordinary household welder. If you have to not only weld a fence with a gate, but also cut a thick metal profile or cut hinges from a garage (hopefully not someone else's), then FUBAG will cope with such tasks.

Cares about you

The set of functions is standard for equipment designed for inexperienced users who need a little help in controlling the electric arc. The device has a hot start, afterburner and anti-stick. It is also interesting to note that the tool has a VRD function — the ability to lower the open circuit voltage to values that are safe for humans (13 V in this case), in those moments when the electrode does not touch the metal. This makes the operation of the welding equipment safer for the user and others. Exactly the same FUBAG IR 200, but without VRD, costs just a bit cheaper.

The indicator of the frequency of switching on this model is average (40%). He clearly says that this is not professional equipment, but a household-class tool. But in terms of the accuracy of the settings, the device is not inferior to the "adults". It has a digital display that allows you to set the current value to the nearest ampere.

Great machine with a little quirk

Fubag welding machines, including this model, enjoy a good reputation. They have decent quality, good performance, convenient controls, reliable electronics and durable bayonet connectors. But there is one "but" — cables. Well, where does it fit if the wire length is only 1.8 metres? And the cable to ground generally has 1.2 metres in length. You almost have to sit on the machine while doing welding. Although, on the other hand, when you work with a welder that hangs on your shoulder, longer wires can only get in the way. Ultimately, it all depends on the style of work.
