Which heater to choose: pros and cons, comparison of different typesChoosing the type of heater, comparing the strengths and weaknesses of the options offered today
Model overview based on user reviews
The Gorenje OptiHeat 2000 MP is a convector heater known for its simple and strict design, which aligns with Gorenje's reputation for quality household appliances. It features a closed-type heating element (TEN) and offers stepwise power regulation at 1000W and 2000W, making it suitable for heating areas up to 20 m². The heater includes a thermostat for maintaining a constant room temperature and has safety features like overheat protection and waterproofing, allowing use in high humidity areas, including bathrooms. Users appreciate its effectiveness in local heating during transitional seasons, although some find the thermostat lacks precise graduation and note that the front panel can get quite hot. Despite minor issues like clicking noises during heating and cooling, the overall impression is positive, highlighting its convenience and safety for local room heating.
Pros
Cons
Like it or not, electric heating is a very convenient and safe thing. But I can’t use convectors to heat the whole house, because in winter the whole house will need too much power, and the power line from which the house is supplied will simply not withstand it. But on the other hand, electric heaters are very convenient for local heating of individual rooms in spring and autumn, when the temperature outside is still or already low, but you don’t want to turn on the heating throughout the house. This is where such convectors become indispensable. I took two pieces, put them on legs. They were in work for about a month, so it's too early to draw deep conclusions. But the overall impression is good. Nice, simple and strict design. With this, Gorenje has always been good with household appliances, and this time they didn’t let us down either. They heat perfectly, hot air comes out of the slots located on top, and the front wall does not overheat. Management of this model is the simplest, mechanical. It was possible to take the option with a glass touch panel, and for gourmets there is the most sophisticated convector equipped with a WiFi module and remote control, but why, if they heat in exactly the same way, but cost almost several times more. Power is regulated stepwise, there are only two steps: 1000 and 2000W. There is also a thermostat on the side, with which you can maintain the temperature in the room at a constant level. There is protection against overheating. Such convectors can be used in rooms with high humidity and even in bathrooms. There is a two-year manufacturer's warranty. The thermostat has no graduation, so at first, in order to achieve the desired effect, it often had to be adjusted. But this, in general, is nonsense, the clicks and crackles that the convectors emit when heated and cooled were much more annoying. But you quickly get used to this, or maybe it’s just that over time they simply became smaller. |
In the dark, you can see a blue flash from the slots during the click of the thermostat. From the outside there are no room temperature sensors. I looked inside through the grate, there is a thermostat - a bimetallic plate, like in an iron, and a thermostat from overheating. There are no more details. TEN of the closed type, instead of an open wire. The front panel at the top gets very hot, as does the grill. use Gorenje OptiHeat 2000 MP less than month |
