The thermal imager is designed for detecting heat signatures from up to 1000 meters away (objects the size of a car can be detected from up to 2400 meters). The device is built on an optical system that provides a viewing angle of 10.4°x7.9° and a 2.4x image magnification. An additional digital zoom can enlarge the picture by another 4 times. The Guide TD420 thermal imager is equipped with an uncooled VOx sensor with a resolution of 400x300 pixels.
