Built for fishing

The Finnish company Helle originally developed this model for fishing. Even the name, Hellefisk, is directly related to waterfowl, because fisk is translated as fish. Indeed, the blade is well suited for work in water: a fixed design, a stainless steel thin blade, a comfortable handle. All this allows you to work in conditions of high humidity and successfully cut the catch, preparing it for food on the spot or for transportation.

Cutting float

The blade has a record thickness of 1.3 mm and is as close as possible to a sirloin in shape, while the length is quite impressive - 123 mm. Such parameters allow you to comfortably gut and clean the fish, separate the fillet from the rest of the carcass and quickly cut it for transportation. The handle is made of cork wood. This choice of engineers guarantees, firstly, an anti-slip texture, and secondly, positive buoyancy. The knife does not sink in water, but floats up like a float, with the handle up, so if you drop it, it's okay. To prevent the hand from slipping when cutting away from itself, a deep sub-finger notch is provided. This, of course, is not a full-fledged guard, but it saves fingers from getting on the blade.

Leather sheath - stylish and comfortable

The sheath for the blade is made of natural hard leather with a free suspension, i.e. the strap for attaching them is on top, and when attached to the belt, the blade is not fixed tightly, but is in a suspended state. It is important to note that the seam is located on the inside, and not on the side, as in most models. This ensures the safety of the scabbard, because it will not be possible to open the seam when removing or inserting the blade with all the desire. And the skin itself looks much more stylish than plastic or rubber, which for many fishermen becomes a decisive factor. But, perhaps, there is a minus here - such sheaths increase the overall cost of the blade. Yes, plus the mark-up for the brand, and the price is very impressive. This is far from affordable for everyone.

A classic fishing knife with a thin blade for filleting and a comfortable handle. Not only functional, but also beautiful to look at.
