The car is ready for the first ride right out of the box. The nickel-metal hydride battery with a capacity of 800 mAh is enough for an active walk-trip lasting about 20-25 minutes. Well, if you drive calmly, then all 40. Since the two of us took turns riding with my son, this was not enough and I had to order an additional 2000 mAh battery. The car is well made and strong.
