Smart watch from Honor in the style of the well-known Apple Watch. The model is made in an aluminum case and is armed with a rectangular AMOLED screen with diagonal dimensions of 1.75 inches. The image on the display of the wearable device is displayed in a maximum resolution of 450x390 pixels. Over 300 dials and Always On Display mode are available to the user. Literally out of the box, the watch supports 97 sports training modes, it measures heart rate, determines the level of blood oxygen saturation, collects information about the user’s activity during the day, monitors stress levels and sleep quality, and keeps a women’s calendar.
For contactless payments, Honor Watch 4 provides an NFC module. The watch also has built-in GPS satellite navigation, a microphone and a speaker for receiving and making voice calls without using a smartphone. Smart watches by the Honor brand belong to the mid-price segment and offer a balance of design, functions and cost. The manufacturer does not try to hide the fact that the gadget clearly resembles the Apple Watch in appearance: the same rectangular case with rounded edges, only without the “apple” button-wheel Digital Crown. By the way, the device is compatible with both Android and iOS, although it is still unlikely that iPhone owners will choose this model - they often prefer branded products. In any case, the watch looks nice and is comfortable to wear. The only disappointing thing is the small choice of colors: only two options for silicone straps are available, and the beige one has a large inscription " Honor Go Beyond ". Not everyone will agree to such brand advertising, so there is only one option without inscriptions - black. In addition, a special mount makes it impossible to use any other straps except the original ones.
The watch is equipped with a large 1.75-inch AMOLED display with a good supply of brightness, viewing angles, rich colors and a variety of dials to choose from. The screen can work in Always On mode, and although this significantly affects autonomy, you still won’t have to charge the gadget every day, like the same Apple Watch. The manufacturer claims that one charge of the 451 mAh battery lasts up to 14 days, but this figure depends on many factors. Even with Always On Display enabled and fairly active use, the battery will last about 8–10 days without charging.
Standard set of functions with limitations
The model's capabilities are not extensive, but quite standard for this category of devices. The watch can measure heart rate and blood oxygen levels, supports about a hundred sports modes, monitors sleep duration and, in general, user activity. GPS helps to make accurate measurements during outdoor workouts. Thanks to 4 GB of built-in memory, you can download a dozen or two tracks. You cannot download third-party applications, although for the vast majority of users this is not necessary.
Honor Watch 4 was initially introduced in China and then on the international market. And there are differences between them. The most important thing is that the Chinese watch supports eSIM technology, while the global version does not. At the same time, when connected to a smartphone, users can receive incoming messages and notifications, as well as answer calls and make calls on their own via Bluetooth.
