Bulk Model

For more than 15 years, HP has been a leader in the manufacture of computer equipment. The company's success in the laptop market is due to the company's ability to cater to the mass consumer without driving up prices. Model HP 250 G7 is an excellent confirmation of this.

Powered by powerful Core i7

This is one of the rare sub-$1,000 laptops that comes with a high-end 8th generation Core i7 processor. It has 4 physical cores and 4 virtual ones, which, when automatically overclocked, reach a frequency of 4.6 GHz. Otherwise, we have a fairly standard 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB SSD. The graphics card was sacrificed in favor of the processor, so instead of discrete video, the simplest integrated graphics core Intel HD 620 is installed here. That is, this is a purely working laptop that is not particularly suitable for games.

No noise and no heat

But such equipment made it extremely quiet and cold even under heavy load. Plus, this is a very energy-efficient option, which has a positive effect on the battery life of the laptop. From 6 to 10.5 hours at base load and average screen brightness is a decent result for this class.

Weight less than 2 kg

The weight of the model is only 1.78 kg with dimensions of 376x246x23 mm. This is one of the lightest models in its class, such a baby will not cause trouble for daily carrying in a bag or backpack. The surface of the case made of matte plastic, according to user reviews, is quite easily soiled, so fingerprints have to be wiped periodically. This can hardly be called a big minus, rather, the oddity is that usually matte plastic does not sin like that.

Without USB-C, but with a DVD burner

All in all, the HP 250 G7 leaves the impression of a reliable but inexpensive laptop, in which the manufacturer tried to cut off excess fat as much as possible. This concerns not the coolest SVA matrix with a modest margin of brightness, the missing graphics card and not the most modern port equipment. For example, USB-C was never delivered. Although for mid-range models, this is still in the order of things. But for some reason they put a DVD burner. Who needs it in the new decade and why didn't they save on it in the first place?

Model overview based on user reviews
The HP 250 G7 laptop offers a mix of pros and cons that potential buyers should consider. On the positive side, it features a reliable Intel processor with 4 cores and 8 threads, a 256GB SSD, a discrete graphics card, and 8GB of memory, which can be expanded to 16GB. It is relatively lightweight at 1.8 kg, making it a practical choice for business use. Users have praised its long battery life and good sound quality. However, the laptop has notable drawbacks, particularly its outdated SVA display, which lacks brightness and displays a "yellow-gray" color instead of white, making it uncomfortable for extended use. Additionally, the body tends to show fingerprints easily. While some users appreciate its durability and ability to handle spills, others find the monitor quality unacceptable, especially given its increased price. Overall, the HP 250 G7 is a budget-friendly option with decent hardware, but potential buyers should be aware of its display limitations.
Pros

Cons

You can take. I recommend. The battery holds for a long time. The sound is good and he is patient.

There is a war in Ukraine. These Russian bastards are targeting the infrastructure. Anyway. We bought the HP 250 G7 laptop back in 2021. When they started turning off the lights, I downloaded "The Simpsons" in Ukrainian naturally (I write in Russian so the Russians understand too). So, I downloaded three seasons via Torrent from 30 to 32. I've seen the others. And in "power saving" mode for five hours, it went from one hundred percent to 34! And during this time, a USB lamp was powered from it, and it was using internet from the phone, I was on Telegram. How about that? The laptop is excellent. We added extra memory to it. Overall, no complaints. And the most important thing. I love beer. And I spilled it on the laptop. And seemingly, it loves beer too. Because it continued working and never malfunctioned. But it didn't like Windows 11. It's really glitchy. Don't install it.
Not bad.
No keyboard backlight. It would not hurt.

I do not recommend buying!
6 November 2020
Before purchasing, I read a detailed review which stated that "the very low quality of the monitor does not allow for content viewing and this model cannot be recommended for purchase." I thought these "advanced" experts were somewhat exaggerating because they are "spoiled" with expensive models featuring IPS displays. I've been using work and home laptops for 15 years, so I was ready to compromise with the outdated SVA monitor considering the relatively affordable price and decent hardware of this laptop model. In reality, the monitor is truly awful! Insufficient brightness and a "yellow-gray" color instead of white. Working on it is very difficult and uncomfortable. The second significant drawback is that all fingerprints remain visible on it, even from thoroughly washed hands! This is strange for a "textured" and semi-matte "Dark Ash Silver" color body. "-" Horrible monitor, and the body is "smudged" with clean hands Now it has become more expensive and costs not $650, but already over $900, and I do not recommend buying it.
In October 2020, this "budget" laptop for $650 had quite good "hardware."
PROS:
+ Intel processor 4 cores 8 threads
+ SSD 256
+ discrete graphics card 2Gb.
+ 8Gb memory with the possibility to increase it to 16Gb.
+ relatively lightweight (1.8 kg.), for a laptop with a 15.6" display
+ G7 - this is a "reliable and straightforward" lineup from the HP brand for business
CONS:
« -» Monitor with outdated display matrix type SVA (a variety of TN).
