Appearances are deceptive

Externally, the model looks like a classic backpack, but one feature - a carrying handle right in the middle of the front panel - can be confusing. There is nothing complicated. Just when necessary, the HP Odyssey Backpack 15.6 turns into a classic bag. The function is interesting, and may be useful in some situations, but controversial. The fact is that the straps will not go anywhere, and you can not remove them. It turns out that when you use the handle in the middle, the straps just hang out at the bottom. But the material corresponds to a city backpack - waterproof polyester withstands long-term use and short rains.

One but big

The central compartment is large and is equipped with several small pockets on the back. Quite a lot of things fit here, but they are all stored in one pile, and only a tablet or a folder with documents can be put in small departments. Compression straps are provided to tighten the volume, which is reminiscent of the design of travel backpacks. By the way, the main compartment opens like a valve (i.e. the snake goes along the perimeter of the pocket from above, and when unfastened, it simply leans back), similar to the hiking models of the model, which is not very convenient when loading or unloading things. But on this valve there is a small compartment with soft upholstery, for glasses, keys and all sorts of little things, such as headphones. And if you take into account the presence of a chest strap to reduce the load on the shoulders, then if the HP Odyssey Backpack 15.6 is a little larger, it can easily be mistaken for a full-fledged hiking backpack.

And the laptop is in a secret place

It's no secret that HP's main products are various appliances, including laptops, tablets, mice and keyboards. This means that the backpack of this brand is designed to transport such devices. But this model has a very interesting solution - the laptop pocket is located between the back and the main compartment, closes with a zipper and it is quite difficult to find it the first time. Perhaps the idea is that the laptop is not conspicuous and is protected from all sides: the case and the back of the backpack. The latter, by the way, is anatomical with appropriate seals and structure, so it can really cover your equipment in case of an accidental fall. There is also another hidden pocket on the side. It is supposed to put smartphones or a power bank there, and access can be obtained without removing the backpack.

A backpack from an eminent company, adapted specifically for carrying laptops. And the main pocket is more like a nice addition.
