I took it based on the requirements - electrical, power, reliability or quality (according to reviews). The backpack attachment is really lacking; there is no option with a solid rod, which should be a little longer. A clamping nut without a spool with a plastic insert (how long will it last?), but with a protective cover - the grass does not wrap around the shaft. Smooth start. Powerful, tested on reeds and dodder - cuts everything without a problem! Connected with a 30 m extension cord - pulls! Suitable for those gardeners who do not want to bother with replacing spark plugs, mixing gasoline and oil, cleaning filters, and the "pull cord". Bicycle handle - (my configuration option) is available on few electric models. Blade and spool included. A collapsible rod, although it is a choice: reliability or convenience? The GC1400 variant has only one plastic blade and line guard with a canopy, which is difficult to remove (for the reel). I don’t think that after use the canopy will fall back into place easily. The rod is short and the fastening belt is disgusting, which constantly twists. Collected at the end of the season, so I had to check next. The main trouble is the retaining rivet to the casing fastening bracket. It goes straight into the aluminium bar. I was dissatisfied and therefore decided to write a review. The scythe served for 2 years, which, in my opinion, is not enough for its value, there is something to compare with, I am not the first. Well, I'll start in order. The first summer, the end of the season, the thread broke from the vibration on the rod in the engine area and the bolts flew out, but oh well, I unrolled, drilled new holes, cut the thread, everything seems to be. The second season began to mow, the story repeated itself, but now the engine has overheated and the handle with the button has broken off, which, by the way, is made of aluminium, like the bar itself, since there are a lot of spare parts for the Chinese on the market, so I changed the handle, but with the rest I went to the service, there are so many things for me they said both the anchor and the brushes and the soft start system need to be changed and the rod, I don’t remember the rest. In short, about 2500 UAH of repair was calculated at the cost of the braid at the moment, approximately 2800-4000. In short, the repair is not advisable, and moreover, spare parts for it are only sold on order. Oh, and I forgot, I wanted to attribute it to dignity, but there is also a flaw in the factory reel, you can insert fishing line 1.6 and 2.4, but in the second year of use, it began to snap off during mowing and the entire inside of the reel with fishing line fly out. Powerful electric trimmer
The Hyundai GC1400 scythe is equipped with a very powerful engine — as much as 1400 watts are at your disposal. Therefore, it perfectly mows any growth, almost without feeling the load. Due to the high power of the motor during operation, engine speeds close to the maximum (10,000 rpm) are maintained all the time. Due to the high speed of the cutting equipment, the plants are less damaged on the cut. To prevent the device from twitching at startup, the manufacturer equipped it with an electronic module that provides a smooth start.
A scythe designed for more than just simple work
Due to the large working width (42 cm wide can be mowed in one stroke), lawn mowing is carried out quickly. The trimmer head accepts 2mm nylon strings. To cut stiff weeds and small bushes with thin branches, instead of a head with a fishing line, you can install a three-blade knife, which is included in the kit. It is made of hardened steel, so it cuts perfectly and does not break even when hitting small stones. The bar and handle (with rubber grips) are made of aluminium. The bar is collapsible, so the lawn mower can be folded for storage or transportation.
The “side effects” of a powerful engine are such disadvantages as the fairly large weight of the trimmer (5.5 kg — almost like gasoline counterparts), as well as noticeable vibration and very noisy (by the standards of a power tool) operation.
Competitor to lawn mowers
The Hyundai GC1400 electric scythe is a real competitor to mid-range power class gasoline trimmers. It's just as powerful and just as good at cutting weeds and thickets, but it doesn't require gas and doesn't smell like exhaust. At the same time, the Hyundai tool has a quite reasonable cost, as for garden equipment with good performance and a claim to “professionalism”.
