4 in 1

The American audio brand ION Audio produces 4 product groups: home discos, personal Open Air, vinyl players, musical instruments. Mustang LP is the company's calling card, a powerful 4 in 1 audio system that combines a record player, radio, audio recorder and playback device.

Fashionable dude

Available in two colours: burgundy and black. The wooden case and lid with the Mustang logo are covered with piano lacquer, they look impressive and look especially organic in loft and retro interiors.

But the main "trick" of the audio system is the design of the radio, which exactly repeats the dashboard of the Ford car model of the same name. In the centre on the front panel there is a “speedometer” — an analogue AM / FM scale, on the left — a round and massive volume control knob, on the right is the same — settings.

Sound playback

On top is a vinyl player that supports three speeds — 33, 45 and 78, and on the sides of the case there are built-in speakers with a total power of 2.4 watts. The sound from them is very reminiscent of the sound of old vinyl players: the prevailing medium frequency range, crumpled highs, lack of bass. This was done intentionally to emphasize the vintageness of the model. To fully enjoy the sound of vinyl, you can connect an external speaker, or convert a record from a record to digital.

Sound recording

There are two ways to digitize a record : by inserting a flash drive into a USB connector or by connecting the player to a computer and using special software. In the first case, the sound cannot be processed, it will be recorded as it is in the original, and only in MP3 128 kbps format. But the playback options from a flash drive are wider: MP3, WMA and WAV files are supported.

Also, the player can be used to listen to sound files from an external device (smartphone, tablet) through the AUX line input, and, of course, listen to headphones.

Buying a Mustang LP will cost $250-260. Given the exclusive design, workmanship and technical capabilities, this is, in general, inexpensive. After all, you get not only a multifunctional audio system, but also a fashion item.
