Model overview based on user reviews
The Janome Juno 523 is an electromechanical sewing machine that offers a range of features suitable for beginners. It includes 23 stitch options, basic presser feet, and essential tools, making it a comprehensive starter kit. Users appreciate its quiet operation and ease of use, noting that it is well-assembled and offers good build quality. However, some concerns include its low weight, which affects stability, and low engine power, which can cause slipping on dense fabrics. Additionally, the inability to disengage the lower feed dogs, replaced by a less convenient plate, is noted. Despite these drawbacks, it is recommended as a quality machine for beginners, especially when paired with the right needles and threads for different fabrics. Overall, it is a good choice for those new to sewing, though users should be mindful of the specifications and ensure proper maintenance for optimal performance.

I chose it as if for myself. I liked the weight of the model (7-8 kg at different sources). I liked the engine power (85 watts), don't confuse it with the consumed power, which includes the power of the work area lighting lamp (15 watts), total power 100 watts. Ordered it from Svyaznoy.ru online store for 8340 rubles (January 2019). I come to the store, tell the seller, the order is such-and-such, last name so-and-so, bring the product. They brought a sealed box. I ask to open and check. The seller says: - "Pay first, then we'll check." Paid, checked - everything works. Didn't even think to look at the plate attached to the back of the machine. And there is the most interesting thing. Engine power is 60 watts instead of 85 watts. And later, when I unveiled the original packaging, it turned out that the machine's weight was only 5.9 kg net instead of 7-8, as advertised, and gross only 6.5 kg. Any machines FROM 4500 rubles and ABOVE from any manufacturer fit such weight-power characteristics! Let me remind you, I bought for 8340 rubles! Be careful when choosing! Beware of the EUPHORIA from purchasing a new toy!
The kit includes everything you need to get started. A bunch of stitches, basic presser feet and tools, 4 extra bobbins and an oil can with oil for the first time. It works quietly due to reduced engine power and, accordingly, speed. Well assembled.
LOW WEIGHT - the machine lacks stability.
LOW ENGINE POWER - the machine slips on dense fabrics.
The lower feed dogs cannot be disengaged (used to be possible) - replaced by a plate for darning and embroidery. Very inconvenient plate - small, poorly secured, and made of very thin plastic (likely to break soon).

good machine for beginners

I bought the machine six months ago. During this time, I've sewn both thin and thick fabrics. I'm new to sewing and would sew 2-3 items a month for children or myself. We took it apart and the inside is metal. For the first 2 months, I didn't oil the machine at all (because of this the machine was noisy), I didn't read the instructions carefully, and you should oil it after each large item. After oiling, it sews very well and quietly. I can recommend it as a quality machine for beginners. You just need to carefully choose the needles and threads for the respective fabrics. I feel like I've outgrown it and want more, but that's not the machine's fault.
price, build quality, ease of operation, equipment
nothing, the machine is wonderful
