Model overview based on user reviews
The Kentavr KBG-258 generator is praised for being lightweight and easy to manage, making it a suitable solution for temporary power outages. Weighing approximately 55 kg when filled with petrol and oil, it can be easily handled by an adult or even a teenager. Its power output is sufficient for lighting, refrigerators, and low-power household appliances, and it can even run an inverter air conditioner. The generator is noted for its steady performance and offers good value for money. However, users mention that the air filter requires frequent cleaning, and the absence of an ammeter is a minor drawback. Overall, it is considered a reliable option for those experiencing frequent power interruptions.
Pros
Cons
For about 10 years I have been living in my own detached house. I recall with horror those old times when, together with my wife and children, we huddled in a rented one-room apartment in a multi-storey building. Since then, a lot has changed, my small business brings not very impressive, but stable income, which allowed me to build a new house in the near suburbs and normally support a family of five. But, for the second year, a stable and measured home life began to spoil interruptions in electricity. The problem is that the local electrical substation, built back in Soviet times, cannot cope with the increased load. The local deputy promises for the second year that the power engineers will solve this problem, but so far our street is struggling with these blackouts on its own. And in the evenings, gasoline generators rumble regularly in the yards. I bought this inexpensive model, because I hope that this, maximum next year, the problem with the energy supply will still be solved. This generator is almost the perfect solution to the problem of a temporary lack of electricity. Light weight, about 55 kg with petrol and oil. An adult man can easily cope with it alone. When I am not at home, my eldest son starts it, he is 14 and he starts the manual starter without any problems. The power is relatively small, but it is enough for lighting, refrigerators and other low-power household appliances. In the summer, even an inverter air conditioner was launched from the generator. With conventional air conditioners, such a trick most likely will not work, but the inverter can work from it. According to the passport, it can work up to 8 hours, in practice this period rather depends on the load and cooling. In winter and autumn-spring, when the air is cold, it worked for me until 4 pm (with a short break to refuel the tank). Worth reasonable money. The air filter gets dirty pretty quickly. Either the filter cartridge is too small, or it’s so dusty here, but you have to clean it almost after every 10-15 hours of operation. |
works steadily, enough power light weight, easy to control ammeter missing |
