The British brand Kenwood offers kitchen scales that attract attention with a snow-white coloring of the work surface and a pleasant minimalist design. And their compact size makes it easy to find a place to store the device.

Kenwood DS 400 will help determine the mass of both the lightest ingredients in dishes (from 2 grams) and fairly heavy objects. So, the maximum measurement weight is 8 kg, which, for example, will allow you to check if you have been weighed down while selling a large pumpkin or medium-sized watermelon. Weighing accuracy is 2 g, which is quite enough for most household needs.

Demanded functionality

The scales support the function of tare compensation, which partly solves the issue of the lack of a stationary bowl. As a container, you can use various household dishes (preferably of a small diameter, since the working surface has dimensions of 22 × 17 cm).

The Kenwood DS 400 has an automatic shutdown after 3 minutes of inactivity and the ability to select units of measurement (grams, ounces and pounds). It also provides information on the main types of errors: excess and battery discharge (CR2032 is used).

Ease of operation and maintenance

At the bottom of the platform there is an LED display, and next to it there is a pair of touch buttons (for selecting units of measurement and zeroing the tare). The responsiveness of these controls is the main disadvantage of the Kenwood DS 400. The touch buttons do not respond to a light touch, but require distinct and long presses. Therefore, dirty hands can leave traces, and heavy touches can cause deviations in the weighing results.

Note that the glass platform of the scales slightly simplifies cleaning from contaminants. Simply wipe the work surface with a damp cloth and/or paper towel.
