Remote connection

Externally, the Kovea burner slightly resembles a tin can with legs. The latter are needed here to ensure stability on the ground and other not the most even surfaces.

Instead of the common threaded fastening, the gas cylinder is connected to the Kovea KGB-1608 using a long hose. Such a remote connection is very convenient in fact. In cold weather, the fuel cartridge can be lifted or placed on its side to improve gas flow. And due to the remoteness of the cylinder from open fire, fire safety also increases.

Wind and cold are not a problem

For difficult camping conditions, the burner is equipped with a removable windscreen. It will not allow the flame to go out with strong gusts of wind. For convenience, there is a piezo ignition: with it you do not need to look for a lighter or matches. A plastic case is offered for transportation.

Another feature of Kovea KGB-1608 is preheating. The heat conduit is designed in such a way that the gas is supplied to the burner hot: this solution eliminates the drop in power during frost or small amounts of fuel in the cylinder.

Reliable assistant

The model weighs a modest 370 grams and is a very balanced solution in terms of power and efficiency: the maximum gas consumption is 140 g/h. Also, the burner is very versatile, since the burner diameter of 15 cm will allow you to place various tourist utensils here, including fairly large pots.

The Kovea KGB-1608 can be recommended for most use cases, but the best choice would be a torch for hiking in the cold season.
