Model overview based on user reviews
The Marten Base MB-12V 12 kW is a solid fuel, floor-standing boiler designed for heating areas up to 96 m². It features a single-circuit system, focusing solely on heating without additional functionalities like a built-in water heater or remote control. The boiler operates autonomously with a heat output of 12 kW and an efficiency of 76%. Despite its robust design, including an open combustion chamber and a flue diameter of 130 mm, user reviews of a similar model, the MB-17V, indicate potential issues. Users reported insufficient power, difficulty in reaching desired temperatures, and problems with the stove smoking and cracking. These issues suggest potential design flaws, particularly with the fitting and sealing of components. While the MB-12V may offer economical heating if modified, prospective buyers should be cautious and consider these user experiences before purchasing.

And so economical if you finish it yourself. But winter will show his work.
We bought a boiler a week ago from the Martin 17V factory with a hob. The boiler has shown itself negatively since launch. Started to smoke around the stove. 15 minutes later there was a loud bang, the cast-iron stove burst. We contacted the factory’s hotline: we were told within three days that the guarantee for the stove does not apply, but the fact that the type of draft smokes is bad. This is with a pipe diameter of 200 and a height of five five five feet, as provided in the passport. In general, we, as buyers, were left with ourselves with this problem. I had to decide on my own. It turned out that when the plate was raised, it did not correspond to the size of the boiler; they tried to fit it at the factory. Under the size, they simply put it on the metal without icebest or sealant around the irregularities and the welding drops on which the cast iron was placed and when fastening it was pressed onto these welding drops. And when heated, due to such irregularities, the plate cracked. So who's to blame???? Collectors or traction. I had to buy a stove, apply sealant and icebest and the stove stopped smoking. I recall folk wisdom: the salvation of the drowning is the work of the drowning themselves. So think before you buy.

Heating and cooking

The Marten Base MB-17V boiler offers a unique opportunity not only to heat the room, but also to prepare food thanks to the built-in cast iron hobs (2 pieces). This model can be a real salvation for dachas and houses where there is no centralized gas supply. It will also free up space in small spaces as it eliminates the need to install a stove. In addition, savings on utility bills such as gas and electricity will be significant. A power of 17 kW is sufficient to heat a house with an area of 50 to 136 m². It should be noted, however, that the heating process may consume more fuel, since the coefficient of performance (COP) is around 76%. Therefore, the work will require more raw materials, such as anthracite, firewood or briquettes. Thanks to the increased volume of the firebox, the boiler is able to operate on one load of fuel for 5-8 hours.

High build quality

The manufacturer uses robotic welding, which reduces the number of defects and improves the quality of seams. The declared service life of the boiler is 10 years, which is an impressive figure for a budget model. The thickness of the steel sheets in the firebox is 3 mm, which can contribute to mechanical changes and accelerated wear. However, this also contributes to more efficient heating of the coolant, which is certainly a plus. The water-filled grate also actively participates in the heat exchange process, and its seamless tubes ensure a long service life without the risk of leaks.

Adjusting the loading hatch hinges makes it possible to maintain the tightness of the chamber during operation, even when the seals wear out, which is an important advantage.
