Lightweight Champion
Core Frozr S is MSI's most compact CPU cooler, weighing only 715 grams. Tower coolers up to 800 grams are considered compact and do not pose a risk of bending the printed motherboard. The height of the Core Frozr S is 152 mm (which is even less than the typical 155 mm), so there is no need to worry about it not fitting into the PC case.
Asymmetric Design
The Core Frozr S is based on four copper heat pipes that make direct contact with the processor. The heat-dissipating fins are made of aluminum and are covered on top by a decorative shroud with MSI's recognizable "dragon" logo. The fin array is slightly offset toward the motherboard power zone radiator, ensuring it does not block the first PCI-E slot used for the graphics card. The first RAM slot is also not blocked at all.
Peace and Quiet
The included 12-centimeter MSI Torx fan deserves special attention (brackets are provided for attaching a second one). The high density of the blades combined with a hydrodynamic bearing makes this fan very quiet and durable. At a rotation speed of 500 – 1800 RPM, the noise level does not exceed 17 – 34 dBA, and the MTBF is up to 150,000 hours.
Full Compatibility
The MSI Core Frozr S comes with mounts for all modern processor platforms, including Intel LGA1151/1150, LGA2066/2011, and AMD AM4/AM3, as well as some outdated ones. The only exception is the AMD Threadripper processors with the TR4 socket, which require a massive super cooler or liquid cooling, as they are extremely hot.
