Relatively inexpensive, high-quality and fairly fast SSD drive with a capacity of 1 TB. It is made in a compact M.2 2280 form factor, so it can be used even in laptops and ultrabooks with a thin body and support for the NVMe 1.4 protocol. It features a Phison E15T quad-channel bufferless controller that, while not PCI-E 4.0 capable, still delivers good performance. The foundation is Micron's 176-layer TLC memory, which is a reliable and widely used option in both more affordable and advanced SSD models.

The read speed of MSI Spatium M390 is up to 3300MB/s and the write speed is up to 3000MB/s, which greatly exceeds the capabilities of SATA3 SSD and approaches the speed of more expensive models with PCI-E 4.0 support. It also handles small 4K files at an average speed of up to 550k IOPS, which is decent, if not a record-breaking result. Due to the lack of a built-in buffer, when writing a very large amount of data, the virtual array overflows and the speed temporarily decreases several times. Given the serious competition in the low-cost segment, MSI decided to attract a potential buyer with a 5-year warranty and increased rewriting capacity (800 TB for a 1 TB model).
