Far Wi-Fi 6 router for home without overpaying for registration
19 December 2025
The Netis N6 seems like a very successful option in the budget segment of Wi-Fi 6. The router is focused on real-life usage scenarios: stable performance with a large number of connected devices, high-speed internet up to 1 Gbps, and modern wireless technologies. The dual-core processor handles the load without speed drops, and the support of OFDMA and MU-MIMO allows for serving many gadgets simultaneously without delays. An additional advantage is the USB 3.0, which is rarely found in this price segment and allows the router to be used as a simple home file server. In a medium-sized apartment, the 5 GHz coverage is reliable, and the 2.4 GHz is well-suited for remote devices and smart-tech. Overall, the Netis N6 gives the impression of a well-thought-out and balanced router without critical compromises.
Wi-Fi 6 (AX1800), gigabit LAN and WAN ports, presence of USB 3.0, stable performance with a large number of devices, support for OFDMA, MU-MIMO, and Beamforming, compatibility with older standards, EasyMesh, OpenVPN, and WireGuard, good speed at 5 GHz within the apartment, reasonable price for its class.
Antennas are non-removable, speed in the 5 GHz range noticeably drops through two walls, simple design without premium materials.

For an ultra-budget solution - OK, but it's worth looking at alternatives.

REAL user's review, not from a neural network for 3 kopecks.

My main complaint is the unstable operation at 5Hz. I have two different networks enabled, for 2.4 and 5, so I can connect older, less priority gadgets to the slower network, and modern smartphones to the faster one. I intentionally chose two networks because the dual-signal auto-mode on one network can choose 2.4 and not switch back to 5Hz.

As a result, about 70% of the time connected to 5Hz shows a stable signal level, everything works as it should. About 25% of the time the wifi icon loses 1 bar. Not critical and speed test shows benchmark speeds. But sometimes, in those same 5%, the signal loses 2 bars, and then everything loads noticeably slower. In such cases, speed test drops drastically. I checked the connection with two bars literally standing with the smartphone in front of the router to exclude signal quality reduction over distance, through walls. At the same time, 2.4 provides an ironclad stable signal in any situation, although using it is twice as slow.

On the bright side, when everything works as it should, the router delivers its gigabit both via wifi and cable. Convenient setup interface. Ukrainian is present, with some minor flaws. The option to install OpenWrt and permanently remove all ads by filtering traffic is a must-have. But that's for advanced users.

If you're considering the router as a "just set it up and forget" device, it's better to look at something else.
