Model overview based on user reviews
The Nexen Winguard Ice Plus tires are highly regarded for their excellent grip and directional stability, making them a reliable choice for winter conditions. Users appreciate their quiet performance and ability to handle various weather conditions, including snow and wet roads. While some note that the tires may slip on ice or during sharp accelerations, this is generally manageable with careful driving. The tires are praised for their strong build, providing stability and confidence on highways. However, the soft rubber may wear out relatively quickly, with a lifespan of about 35-40 thousand kilometers. Overall, these tires offer a great balance of performance and affordability, making them a popular choice among consumers.

For me, there are two types of tires: Bridgy Blizzaks and this one.

Already rolling through my third set.
Holds ice well, handles snow nicely. After winter, when I switch to my fifth wheels, it's like being on a plane in terms of noise. I mean, these tires are completely silent. Compared, of course.
Wears out pretty quickly. The soft rubber doesn't last long. The maximum lifespan is about 35-40 thousand.
Definitely a good, sturdy winter tire for the city and excellent for the highway.

Good model, I recommend it. Writing a review after the season that the tires served. Purchased by chance, but it turned out that I didn't make a mistake. Definitely better than, for example, Lassa, which I had before. Overall, the tire is more suited for highways, holds the trajectory well, no skidding or wobbling.
Under the comment is not my tire size, mine is 225/50/17.

when accelerating sharply, there is some slipping. This is the first time I've encountered this:). But here are two notes - 1) only with cold tires, that is, in the morning and one or two times, 2) I have a hybrid, the car starts very sharply, at traffic lights it's always either me or the trolleybus first:))).
2. Ice is contraindicated, but I've experienced this once.

In this price range, I got what I wanted.

Kia cerate. These tyres are 5 years old on the Nokian Nordman RS, in which everything is gorgeous both on snow and on ice, full confidence in the future, but after our roads I got tired of patching hernias, so I decided that the next rubber should be first of all with a strong cord, and I can handle the rest with a calm driving style. The second season on Nexsen Winguard Ice Plus, got what I wanted, after the pits you no longer worry about anything.
Strong. On snow, porridge, wet roads, the car is stable and obedient. Braking on ice is relatively confident, but as for me, you need to be careful and accurate, like on any other rubber.
Compared to the Nokian, there is a little sadness on the ice - from the start on bare ice, frequent slippage, although not critical (on the previous rubber, as if asphalt were under the wheels). Accordingly, there is less overall confidence.

Harsh winters are rare in South Korea. Nevertheless, the tyre of the Korean “breed” Nexen Winguard Ice Plus is perfectly adapted to winter driving conditions and does not disappoint on slippery roads.

Double V tread pattern

The model uses a popular technique with a symmetrical drawing of the directional structure tread pattern. The double V-shaped tread pattern is designed to provide confident movement on loose and packed snow. The grip balance of the tyre on snow-covered surfaces is guaranteed by multiple three-dimensional lamellae, with which the tread blocks are streaked. With this nature of the pattern, the Nexen Winguard Ice Plus should also behave well on ice, but the test results from the Finnish Test World in 2020 indicate otherwise — on icy roads the tyre shows poor lateral and longitudinal grip. And on dry and wet pavement, her braking distance turned out to be longer than that of some other subjects.

drainage network

The drainage system of the tyre is made up of annular zigzag channels and diagonal grooves converging towards the centre. It quickly and effectively removes water and slush from the contact patch, thereby increasing the resistance to hydroplaning and slashplaning. The V-shaped grooves in the shoulder blocks increase the endurance of the shoulders and improve the stability of the machine during cornering.

Driving comfort

What the tyre will definitely please is the high level of driving comfort. On the shelves of tyre stores, the model is also presented under the name of the sister brand Roadstone. At the same time, it has no differences from the original Nexen. Tyres are produced in popular passenger sizes for wheel diameters from R13 to R19.
