Japanese friction rubber Toyo Observe S944 replaced the 943rd model from the Snowprox line. In the hierarchy of the brand's tires, it rose from the advanced entry-level segment to the strong middle class of winter tires.

Symmetrical directional tread pattern

One of the noticeable changes was the absence of the central continuous stiffening rib. Now the tread pattern is made in a symmetrical directional V-shaped design. The tread consists of many small blocks located at different angles relative to the axis of movement. This ensures the formation of a large number of sharp gripping edges, supplemented by abundant lamellaization of the tread elements.

Traction qualities

The tire demonstrates excellent traction on snowy roads, holds up well on snow and wet asphalt. However, its braking distance in wet weather conditions can be increased - this is how the model performed in an independent winter tire test conducted by the German publication Auto Motor und Sport in 2020. For the other factors tested, the tire received exceptionally high marks.

Eco-friendliness

The Toyo Observe S944 is manufactured using the proprietary Nano Balance rubber compound, which includes an increased content of silica and natural rubber. This ensures that the compound maintains its elasticity over a wide temperature range, reduces rolling resistance and reduces the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
