The more land you have, the greater the need for a motorized mechanical helper. I remember when my parents used to have a small garden of 600 square meters, and my dad, brother, and I would enthusiastically dig it up with regular spade shovels. But now I need to manage a substantial plot of 3,200 square meters, and with just shovels and rakes, you'd be exhausted even with three people, and it would still be a task that would take at least a week. That's if you work from dawn till dusk. So, without much thought, I consulted with knowledgeable people and bought this cultivator, or as some call it, a power tiller. First of all, I'll say that this is an Italian brand, and at the very least, the engine and main parts are made in Italy. This raises its price but provides a two-year warranty and some confidence in the reliability of the machine. The engine is light, gasoline-powered, but quite powerful with 6 horsepower. It's an economical four-stroke with air cooling and a capacity of 180 cubic centimeters, running on 92 or 95 gasoline. It starts without problems, and it usually takes less than a minute. I'd like to praise the convenient handlebar, which can be adjusted in two axes, decent transport wheels, and a quality two-section set of blades (a total of 6 blades, three on each side). With a working width of 80 centimeters, the task proceeds smoothly, and now I can accomplish in an hour what used to take me an entire day manually. The engine is good, economical, and powerful, but oh how it NOISES! I had to buy special headphones in a construction store, but even with them, it's not very comfortable in the summer heat – they make you sweat a lot. There are also questions about the build quality, it seems our clumsy craftsmen have done their best. |
Italian quality
The rotary motor cultivator Oleo-Mac MH 175 RK from the Italian manufacturer of garden equipment is a light model (60 kg) with a petrol engine, which is designed to break clods and loosen the soil. This agile mid-capacity farm machine is great for home use, delivering high performance tillage even for inexperienced users. The cultivator is powered by a single-cylinder air-cooled motor Emak K 800 H OHV with a power of 4.4 kW (volume 182 cm3), which spins the output shaft in the speed range of 1400 – 3600 rpm. The engine is designed to work with gasoline having an octane rating of 89. The fuel tank capacity is 3 liters, and the volume of the crankcase for oil filling is 0.6 liters. The motor is started manually with a starter cable, and the torque is transmitted using a chain reducer with gear wheels.
Only one forward speed
As the main attachment, a set of 6 reciprocating cutters with 4 knives, which are 3 pcs. are symmetrically mounted on the working shaft, and 2 safety discs can be additionally fixed on the end flanges. The motor hoe does not have outstanding characteristics of cutting the soil: the maximum width of the working front is 82 cm, but the maximum depth of tillage is only 16 cm. adjust both horizontally and vertically. Select levers for 1 forward and 1 reverse gear are located on the handle, which provides quick switching of the direction of travel. The machine cheerfully runs forward at a speed of 8.4 km/h, providing high-quality loosening of the soil, and backs up at a speed of 3.5 km/h. I must say that despite the built-in silencer, the motor is quite noisy (83 dB), so for long-term work with the unit, it will not be superfluous to stock up on protective headphones.
